Thimble 37 - Salaam... Peace

Today is Eid ul Fitr. From the BBC page on religions:

The festival (Eid) begins when the first sight of the new moon is seen in the sky.

There are special services out of doors and in Mosques, processions through the streets, and of course, a special celebratory meal - eaten during daytime, the first daytime meal Muslims will have had in a month.

Muslims are not only celebrating the end of fasting, but thanking Allah for the help and strength that he gave them throughout the previous month to help them practise self-control.

Eid is also a time of forgiveness, and making amends.

For today my choice of Peace graphic is a multi-language and multi-faith Peace symbol made up of the words for Peace in three languages - Salaam (Arabic), Shalom (Hebrew) and Peace (English)

Can one everyday person really make a difference and change the world? Isn't that a bit like trying to empty the ocean with a thimble?

Maybe... but what if you got everyone to help you?
